Access Gun Safe
Using a solder gun for guitar repairs?
Alright, I know you aren't supposed to use solder guns for soldering pickups, because that can mess with it and render it useless. In my situation, one of my input jack's wires broke and I have easy access to a solder gun, I don't want to have to buy a solder iron until I start rebuilding one of my Jackson's. My question, is it safe to use a solder gun (like the Cold-Heat in particular) to solder my broken solder jack wire? Also, I don't really want to change the whole wiring, I'm going to strip the wire a little bit and solder it over the previous solder point. I'm going to change the jack in a few months but it's a temporary fix...should I not do that? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.
Alright, so up to this point, solder iron it is. I'll have to get one soon or get it done at a guitar shop to save me the trouble.
You will be fine. Just be careful, heat the solder away from the guitar body, or cover it so it doesn't drip. Guitar circuitry is rather simple, esp. wiring a jack and as they are usually a fair bit away from the pickups. I have used both a gun and a iron, i prefer iron but no reason why you cant use the gun, just be careful and It will be fine.

Have you ever seen the documentary Bowling for Columbine by Michael Moore? It is amazing and it pretty much about this topic. It basically says that americans feel like guns give us power. From the beginning of America, americans have always had to have the upperhand and feel powerful. Guns do just this. They don't need them for protection...they need them to feel like they have control over something.

Yes the ak47 and the sks r Very simmilar, same round,same trigger same barrel same fireing pin same bolt, the diffrence isbin the recever, an sks doesn't have inter changeable clips it hhas a fixed clip were as the ak47 has the inter changable clips like most other guns, but the sks can be converted to take an ak47 clip, that it what I did to mine
