for protection? wouldn't it be safer if the only people who hold guns are the Police and Military?
Rights and tradition?
Freedom? A different price to pay for freedom vs security?
This is strange, because most countries in the world do not allow their citizens to own guns legally.
Well, it's part of their culture.
It's what shaped their history.
It probably would end up benefiting the citizens, but like I said, it is part of American culture, historically and presently.

Do you feel safe in America with Bush holding the reigns?
Do you feel like the government is doing a good job protecting the American citizens? I don't, and I wonder how many really do feel safe?
I can tell you right now that just because we have not had another terrorist attack has nothing to do with the fact that Bush is doing a good job protecting us. It's sheer luck and amazing that suicide bombers have not started over here.
A test of the airlines showed that items were still getting past security. I'm not talking about lighters, open bottles and smalls stuff...I'm talking Guns, knives and explosives.
I feel quite safe from terrorists as long as i do not leave the country....which pisses me off.....i am actually frightened by the economics of the bush admin,,,,,he has ran us off the cliff,,,,and telling people to spend, spend,,,,,,it promotes a good economy,blablabla,,,,i am getting ready for a real depression to hit the US....
