2006 ford escape xls 4wd 4 cyl- auto tranny seems hesitant?
Bought it used, now has 51k. Always seemed a little slow to shift, now occasionally doesn't immediately engage when starting on an incline. Appreciate any advice/
Check the level of your fluid, check both sides of the stick, the side with the lowest reading is your actual reading, if low add a pint at a time only. Other wise replace the fluid and add CRC transmission cleaner additive

ResQMe: Mini Keychain Auto Escape Tool
Anyone know why the engine light on a 2005 Ford Escape would come on at 40K miles and the temp gauge read hot?
The Escape is a 2005 2.3 4 cylinder. It was running great. Had it in the dealership in October, 07. No problems. Then today the engine light came on and the temp gauge was showing hot.
I did notice the fan running when I first opened the hood but then it just went off. Any ideas before I let the Auto Shop gauge me?
Bad t-stat, blocked radiator, blown head gasket, bad temp sensor. Could be any number of things. Need more information. Coolant being forced out of overflow container or bubbling in it?
