Black Light
Can a Black light in bedroom harm my fish or reptiles?
I recently bought a black light and am wondering if the UV rays will hurt my four tanks of reptiles and fish. I have three geckos, one tarantula, a yellow bullhead catfish, and various guppies, algae shrimp, and a fresh water pleco. Will it hurt any of my animals, or mutate? I will not be putting it over their tanks if I can help it. It is a 17 watt, 24 inch black light. Thank you.
That is a lot of different animals 
I have an iguana and it requires to have a uvb light that is recommended for her. There shouldn't be anything wrong with a black light, as long as you don't have it on 24/7 which I assume you aren't going to anyways.
I looked up a few questions and information I will link at the bottom, hopefully that will help. Either way it's only a 17 watt one so I don't think that will do any harm unless it was a lot higher wattage.
It's nice to see you are concerned, but I wouldn't let it bother you to much, they should all be fine as long as you don't keep it on all the time. If you notice they are acting differently, ie eating less, sleeping schedule off, or just acting weird, then I would start to think it would bother them, just moniter it for the first week and if there is no change, I don't think that it is effecting them to bad then.

Is It A Good Idea To Microwave A Black Light?
How do you make a blue/purple hula hoop glow in a black light?
I need to do a project and it involves recording. I am doing it on fire spinning, but i can't use fire yet, so I was going to use a black light, to show the different kinds of spinning.. But my hoop is blue and purple, and those colors do not glow in black lights.
What could I do to make it glow?
you could try getting white duck tape, and tape the hula hoop. White always glows in black light
