Bolt Safe Is my Rock Island Arsenal Model 1903 safe to shoot?
My rock island arsenal was a low number rifle (185XXX), but on the bolt it says "N.S." (Nickel Steel), along with the bolt handle curving backwards, leading me to believe that it is a high-number bolt, but low number receiver. It's been sporterized, and I think the original barrel was replaced, along with the stock. Is it safe to shoot? Thanks.
despite what anyone may tell you here, bring it to a qualified gunsmith. determining if the gun is "safe" without a physical inspection is crazy.

Types Of Anchors You Could Use For Bolting Down A Gun Safe
I went to get alignment on my 92 BMW and they said the toe bolt in rear is missing. Is car safe to drive until?
They told me I could drive slow in the car... but they are so cryptic! Is it safe to drive. They showed me where the bolt is missing. From the back of the car, the bolt on the inside of rear tire is missing. I could see the bolt on left tire, none on the right!
Another mechanic told me it should be ok because there are 3 more bolts holding it. I did not see any other bolts.
Any advice?
Parts are ordered. Do I need to get a rental and not drive the car? I found out its called a camber bolt. That is the one that broke. Not the toe bolt.
the only problem with that is that your gonna ride on the side of your tires untill you get it fixed. yes you should get a rental cause that whole axel could get screwed up from riding cocksided on the tire
