can i quote a line from a book for as long as i reference it?
I am making a zine and have a list of must read books. Can I quote a line or two as long as it is properly referenced with the title, author, publisher, ect?
not in violation of copyright laws?
As long as you properly cite it, you're fine.
If you reproduced whole sections of the book, or the whole thing, THEN you'd be breaking copyright laws. But a line or two, even a paragraph, is fine.

Book Suggestion Quiz! Do you know where online I can find a book suggestion list based on criteria I choose?
I have a hard time choosing books because I need more information than the back of the book provides. Do you know where online I can find a book suggestion list based on criteria I choose? For example, if I wanted mystery books they will limit the suggestion to mystery and I would continue choosing preferences until a list that would fit would be left.
I'm sorry if that sounded confusing!
