If you were gang-raped by 3 Africans, would you have an abortion?
or keep the child? ... sorry this won't be a trolling question so please calm down and read...
I'm reading a book for English class called Disgrace by JM Coetzee, quite a famous book, and I have to write an essay on one of the female characters and I'm supposed to report things from her point of view, so can you tell me exactly why she would do what she did:
She lives on a farm and one day 3 blacks gang-rape her (shes white). She not only decides to keep the child but she returns to the farm even though it won't be safe and its likely to happen again.
Why? I don't see any logic in her thinking but I'm supposed to write a paper about this... why would anyone do what she did?
PS: Christianity or religion doesn't play a role in the story and she does not give that as a reason to not abort. Reasons?
Disturbing question...and brings back bad memories of an article I read out of a newspaper a few weeks ago about a girl getting -gang-raped. Some people need to be shot.

What is an appropriate gift for an older Russian couple?
My ferret escaped yesterday and one of my neighbors found him and kept him safe. When they saw me they returned him to me. I was so relieved! These neighbors are from Russian (I'm from the US) and don't speak any English.
Even though they didn't want a reward, I feel like I need to give them something. I was thinking about getting them a book in Russian, and then write a little note in it on how thankful we are (translated into Russian). Anyone else have any ideas on how I can show our thanks? I don't know much about Russian culture so I'm not sure what an appropriate gift is.
I think the best will be some nice sweets, good tea or coffee, may be flowers...........to give vodka for older russians- I personaly think it is not very nice. ) I am Russian I would be not happy........
