Boot Neck
can i get my hair french braided and off my neck for boot camp?
The guys have to shave their head. If you're a girl you can braid it, just as long as it doesn't touch the bottom of your uniform collar. You also have to make sure it won't fall down while training. If your hair gets out, you will be in a world of heat with the drill sergeants. When I went to basic training for the Army some girls braided their hair, some had cornrows. For me, before I went to basic training I cut my hair short, it was so much more easier and faster to take care of. You may not have time to braid your hair or put it up, even brushing it was a hassle, especially if you're in the field. So if I were you I would cut it short. You can always grow it back when you're done with boot camp. What branch are you going into? The hair regulations might be different depending on what branch of service you're going into.

Salazar: 'Keep boot on neck of BP'
My sister is going into the Navy bootcamp and has a tattoo that says brave in chinese on the back of her neck?
I am really nervous becuase i am 17 and she is my (very close) 21 year old sister. She dropped the bomb on us today that she wanted to join the navy and go to the 8 week boot camp. She does have a tattoo of a chinese symbol which means brave on the back of her neck. Her hair covers it now but will that effect anything?
I am stationed at RTC (Navy Boot Camp) and the following is a direct quote from the uniform regulations manual. also below is the link to a pdf version. once you open it search tattoo. Its doubtful but If she gets past MEPS ( Military Entrance Processing Station) with the tattoo, and we get her, either the night she arrives or the next day the tattoo will be photographed and sent to our tattoo office for verification of what it says. If it is determined to be offensive, too large or just draws too much attention away from the proper wear of a uniform she will be discharged from the navy. Read below for more info.
7. TATTOOS/BODY ART/BRANDS. Four Criteria will be
used to determine whether tattoos/body art/brands are
permitted for Navy personnel: content, location, size and
cosmetic.
a. Content. Tattoos/body art/brands located
anywhere on the body that are prejudicial to good order,
discipline, and morale or are of a nature to bring
discredit upon the naval service are prohibited. For
example, tattoos/body art/brands that are obscene, sexually
explicit, and or advocate discrimination based on sex,
race, religion, ethnic, or national origin are prohibited.
In addition, tattoos/body art/brands that symbolize
affiliation with gangs, supremacist or extremist groups, or
advocate illegal drug use are prohibited.
b. Location. No tattoos/body art/brands on the
head, face, neck, or scalp. The neck area for purposes of
this regulation is any portion visible when wearing a crew
neck T-shirt or open collar uniform shirt. In addition,
otherwise permissible tattoos/body art/brands on the torso
area of the body shall not be visible through white uniform
clothing.
c. Size. Individual tattoos/body art/brands
exposed by wearing a short sleeve uniform shirt shall be no
larger in size than the wearer’s hand with fingers extended
and joined with the thumb touching the base of the index
finger. Tattoos/body art/brands that exceed size criteria
are waiverable provided they do not violate the content
and/or location criteria.
d. Cosmetic. This regulation does not prohibit
cosmetic tattooing to correct medical conditions requiring
such treatment. For the purpose of this regulation,
cosmetic tattooing refers to medical or surgical procedures
conducted by licensed, qualified medical personnel.

Do some research. Look into something called biotic oil. And it's not Dick Chaney's idea. There are many people who believe in that theory.
You want proof? How about the oil fields in Russia that were all played out. Then 30 years later they're producing again. At record levels.
To consider oil as a byproduct of dinosaurs is lunacy. If that were true we would have run out long ago. Yes, I know, the oil comes from some long ago eon (I don't remember the name) but the running out point remains.
And have you noticed that the "estimated" date for us to run out of fuel has been consistently getting later and later.
If you want to live without oil, move to some far away island in the middle of the Pacific and have at it. The rest of us will live here in comfort and begin looking for economically viable alternative fuel sources, not because we will run out, but because it is both the right thing to do and the next step in our development.
