Browning Gun Safe Combination
Browning safe serial number riped partially and no combination!?
I recently recieved my fathers gun safe from his estate and part of the serial number is scraped and un readable, to make matters worse no one knows dads combo. Its a gold series safe and we dont know wats in it. My bigger problem is all the area lock smiths wont touch it unkess its already open! Any suggestions short of blowing it up or torching it, would like to save the safe.
Talk to the police. Seriously. There are reformed safecrackers who could probably pop it in a few minutes.

There are many safe manufacturers in the world today, many of them make top quality safes, others do not. Lets take a look at five of the top US safe manufacturers and why they have earned a good reputation. I have listed them in alphabetical order to avoid any implication of ranking among these companies.
American Security or AMSEC has been around since 1948, and are based out of California. They boast being the world’s leading producer of burglar resistant safes. Indeed, security has been foremost in their designs. They were the first manufacturer of round door vaults, which were harder to break into and were an industry standard for decades. They were also a lot more expensive, so AMSEC went on in the 1960’s to develop a more cost effective square door that offered maximum protection.
Modern day burglary techniques led AMSEC to develop safes in the 1990’s that used composite construction, combining hard plate steel and high strength concrete which offered great protection against attack. WIth their focus on security, AMSEC was the first US company to obtain Underwriters Laboratories highest burglary ratings of TL15 and TL30, and they continue today to be one of the most innovative companies in the market.
Browning is an American company based out of Utah and their primary focus are gun safes. They aim to make a heavy duty, protective safe that will keep your firearms and other valuables secure from theft or fire, but also looks good with a beautiful finish and fine craftsmanship. Cannon has been manufacturing safes for over 40 years. They believe that you should have ultimate security at the best possible price. Sentry Safe was started during the Great Depression in the 1930’s as the Brush-Punnett Company. They are still a family owned company, led by third generation members of the Brush family, but changed their name to the Sentry Group in 1987.
