Cobalt Drop
Something wrong with my brand new car?
I just bought a 2008 Chevy Cobalt, I love it so far!
The other day, I left it idle (have a baby, enough time to drop her off at the sitters) for not even 5 minutes, and when I went to go the steering wheel wouldnt turn, and when (i was in reverse) I put in it drive, my car just stopped. I had to turn it off, then on again, and it worked.
Scared the crap out of me.
This happened twice so far. With a baby in the car with me, I am worried, what could this be? I am hoping its something I could do, and when I say me, I mean my dad, lol.
It sounds like the steering wheel "wouldn't turn" simply because the engine had stalled (you lost the power assist).
Take it back to the dealer and explain that when the vehicle is idled for a while. it stalls out when put into gear.
