I can't start my cobalt lt and the key wont go through?
my chevy cobalt 07. I can't stick my key in to start. the remote wont work. anything wont work. seems like to have a battery problem?? but if so i still cant start my car because my key wont go through. security lock or what? I no nothing about car so....help me!
check inside the key hole for the ignition, something might be in there that would block the key from going in.
check to make sure your using the right key
I dont know what to tell you about your starter tho.

Afterworld Episode 56 - "The Cobalt Clock"
I have a 2008 Chevy Cobalt and the car won't start. I put the key in the ignition and it won't move.?
I already towed it to the dealer once regarding this and the first service guy got in the car and put the key in and it wouldn't move so he agreed. Then another technician got in the car a couple of hours later and the car started right up! They put some lubricant in the ignition where you put the key and said maybe that was it but weren't sure. Now it is happening again. Also, when it happens, the security light comes on the dash...is this related? Is this a security feature? Please help - thanks!
There is an security interlock between the steering wheel and the ignition key in any automobile manufactured since the early 70s. The lock will prevent the wheel from being turned without the key in the ignition position. Try forcing the wheel left and right against the stops as you turn the key. If you can OCCASIONALLY free the key up that is your problem. The system is likely starting to fail and will need replacement IF this turns out to be the problem. I see this sometimes on older cars.
