Cocktail Safe
6 mths preg. and I want seafood for New Years Eve. is it safe?
so we're having my husbands brothers and sisters over for New Years Eve and i am planning the food. i have really been craving seafood, like, shrimp cocktail, crab legs, scallops, crab dip, that sort of thing, but i have heard that some seafoods are a big no-no when your pregnant.. please someone tell me that i can have this stuff for our little get together, i already can't drink, which to me isn't a huge deal since all i ever do is just have a glass at midnight anyways,but still even that little tradition is off limits this year. i would never want to do anything that could possibly harm my lil unborn buddy...so are these kinds of seafoods safe for me to eat? thanks...
Eat what you want as long as its cooked (no smoked/raw sushi and fish)
You are just advised not to eat fish that has a lot of mercury.
SEAFOOD IS GOOD FOR YOU in life and pregnancy (especially things like SALMON)
I eat salmon for dinner A LOT! And on occasion I make crab cakes (like for X-Mas), and about 3 times during my pregnancy I have made some "eggrolls" that I love (I fill them with crab, veggies, shrimp, etc)
At all of my appointments my baby is perfect and they have measured all of his bones, heart chambers and each side of his brain and counted his toes and fingers.
Just dont eat seafood with high levels of mercury!
And the person who mentioned parasites in fish doesn't know what their talking about.. Unless they buy crappy fish (FARM Raised)
I eat WILD salmon all of the time, its one of the best things for you..
Its just that FARM raised fish runs the risk of having water run off from other parts of the farm where cows and chickens and animals poop and it gets in the water that the fish are in!
Wild Alaskan Salmon is the best.

Is cranberry juice cocktail good for you? (It's has no alcohol in it)?
I know, it isn't as beneficial as regular 100% juice not from concentrate, but is there still benefits from drinking the cocktail juice?
Normally I drink water 24/7, and it's just so boring and untasteful, so I switched to cranberry cocktail. And it's deliciously sweet! Is drinking to much bad and fattening considering the amount of sugar in it? What are its pros and cons of drinking this compared to the 100% juice? Should I just switch back to water, just to be on the safe side? Thank youuuuu!
Pro: Drinking cranberry juice cocktail prevents even the most tenacious bacteria from adhering to the urinary tract and eventually causing urinary tract infections (UTI's)
Con: the sugar adds up causing people to gain weight.
It does taste delicious though!:)
