Commercial Double Safe
Double standards for theists...?
Theists like to invoke the "faith" concept as an integral part of their thought process.
But at the same time they take medications that have undergone rigorous FDA testing, drive cars that have undergone crash-tests, fly in commercial jets that have undergone tests, use electronics that are approved as safe after undergoing tests, etc.
Does anyone else see the double standard here?
Why is "faith" good enough for religious belief, but not good enough for their drugs, cars, planes, or electronics which undergo scientific tests to ensure safety and efficacy?
Doesn't a lightning rod on top of a church show a lack of faith as well?

Airline pilots: how safe is Boston's Logan Airport?
Logan Airport in Boston has 5 intersecting runways, one of them completely unusable because of its short length, and most of the others likewise so either because of obstructions in the approach path or because of their intersecting with other runways. The airport's only true set of paralell runways is a bottleneck with only 1500 feet of horizontal separation and (unlike most other major airports in the U.S.) Logan cannot accommodate double independent ILS approaches under most conditions. The new Runway 14/32 is due to open in one month but it is only 5000 feet long, unidirectional and not equipped with ILS. Unlike most other cities, Boston lacks a secondary airport to take some of this load off of Logan. How safe is Logan considering that up to 150 flights per hour land and take off on this oversized aircraft carrier with 3 of its 5 runways less than 7800 feet long (and even less so with all of the DTs & LAHSO distances factored in)? Commercial pilots, feel free to weigh in on this.
To be honest with you, it is a hard approach, and you have to be super cautious and give plenty of respect and distance to all traffic in the area. But for a normal airline pilot, this is just everyday flight procedure. So as long as your on top of your game, and checked out in your aircraft, it is a normal landing.
