Commercial Double
I have a shop in a residential/commercial CHS.Is it justified to charge double rates from shop owners?
I have a shop in a residential cum commercial housing society.
the society levies double maintaince charges on commercial shops than residential owners. we are not provided any axtra services infact no maintanince is done. We pay the property tax separately in addition to maintainance.
Is the society justified? Please let me know if there are any High Court jugdements in this regard because I want to complain to the registrar of societies to get justice if I am made to pay extra charges.
I am afraid I do not know the law but I do understand the reasoning. Commercial use would be more intense. You will have customers coming and going. Hopefully large amounts if you are successful. With this in mind you will have a higher use of the grounds and buildings then someone who lives there with three or four people. I am sure in that community most people who live there are one or two as would be standard in those types of communities. Remember business is not cheap.
