What can i do if I'm called a racial slur in the mall? Can I punch them and call it self defense? Sue?

Is there any increased legal liability from using ammunition intended for law enforcement in self defense?
For example, if you use a firearm you may otherwise legally possess to defend yourself, and you were charged with a crime, would using "Black Talon" or "Hydra-Shok" ammunition which is restricted by the manufacturer for sale to law enforcement, be used against you by the prosecution?
Although these rounds are not illegal for civilians to buy, the manufacturers restrict sales to law enforcement. However, dealers whose orders are cancelled by agencies sometime sell them to civilians.
I wouldn't rule anything out. However, hydrashock and black talon can be bought all everyday people.
