What is the weather like in Sturgis during July and August?
The guy I am going with loves naked women so he'll enjoy it, But I want to be safe what kind of Safety am I allowed to have, I am another Annie Oakley, I don't miss, but what is legal in all those states between Texas and South or North Dakota, stun guns..pepr spray???
If you're just headed straight north through Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and the Dakotas, you should be OK. I imagine that you're driving, but if you ever fly you need to know that you can carry a stun gun but it has to be in your checked luggage. You cannot carry pepper spray on a flight, apparently there is a fear that they canister might explode in the unpressurized luggage compartment.
For the most part Western states are as cool with non-lethal defense tools as they are with firearms. Hope this helps.

Canadian Firearm owners only please?
Saskatchewan, Canada - handgun acquisition.
Here goes - I would like to own a handgun for target shooting. All I do know is that our handgun laws are very stringent.
1) what are the basic requirements to purchase a handgun in Saskatchewan?
2) can one be imported legally from the USA? A buddy in North Dakota has a legally registered pistol for sale.
3) can I shoot targets on a private farm?
4) are there gun ranges where I can fire this gun?
5) what are the storage requirements? I have a small safe in the house. Would that be acceptable?
I used to hunt in Ontario decades ago. I gave up all my rifles at that time. I just wish to do some recreational pistol shooting.
I don't know about Sask. specifics but I know the details that are common in all provinces:
1: You need an RPAL permit. To get that you need to pass a background check, take some safety courses, and pay a fee. When you're done that you need to wait a few weeks/months for your permit to be processed and delivered. Every time you buy a handgun you need to fill out a bit more paperwork, apply for an Authorization to Transport, and wait.
2: Yes, but to personally import it is way too much hassle. Contact http://www.questar.ca/ for more information, they'll even import firearms for you.
3: No, absolutely not. A handgun is a restricted-class weapon and can only be fired at a licensed gun range.
4: Yes, but since the government requires everyone with a handgun to only shoot at ranges the memberships run pretty high. Here in Ontario $300/year is considered cheap.
5: You have to keep a handgun unloaded at all times unless you're on a range. You can keep it in your safe, unloaded, and that'll be fine. Since it's a safe you can ever keep loaded magazines right next to it for ease of storage. If you want to store a handgun in a gun cabinet it must be unloaded AND locked in some way, whether it be with a trigger lock, cable lock, or something else of the sort, and the cabinet must be locked. I forgot the procedure for keeping a handgun on display, but I'm pretty sure it can be done with enough locks.
Like was already suggested, it's best to contact someone in Sask. Strangely, the CFO is not the best person to talk to. They're not known to have the best grasp of the actual laws and are often downright wrong. Talk to someone at your local friendly gun range and they should be able to walk you through the licensing and get you on your way.
