Deer Brush Gun
20 gauge for deer?
okay ive been scouting 3 places where im ganna hunt deer this year and one of them is thick brush u cant see past 50 or 60 yards (now thats georgia brush lol) and well i was wonder how my coach gun would perform under these conditions its the smallest gun i got and itd be the easiest to carry threw these woods i was wondering if this gun and a 3'' buckshot in the right barrel and a 3'' slug in the left would be a good combo for this area? (id fire the sluge first of corse the buck is just incase) oh and by the way its a 20'' barrel
i have 2 12 gauges 1 winchester 1300 with a 30'' barrel and a winchester 140 with 1 28'' barrel but these things are 2 big to carry threw these woods and theres alot of deer out in these woods i saw like 5 while i was searching the area and yes i have deer rifles 2 i have a remington 742 30.06 (2 pretty to take in these woods itll get scratched up) and a winchester 30-30 (probly will carry this and the 20 in these woods)
20 ga will do a nice job. i've seen several nice deer taken with them, however you need to check the legality of the buckshot, in lots of states you have to shoot slugs, buckshot is not a legal way of harvesting deer

Tex on Optics vs Iron sights for Lever action Rifles
Any thoughts on using a WASR-10 as a brush gun for deer?
Using 125 grain soft point Federal ammo; shots less than 75 yards, usually.
I've taken a couple of deer at close range with this caliber, and am considering taking my WASR-10 out this year, since it is shorter than my sks, and easier to move through thick brush with.
As long as you comply with the magazine capacity restrictions your state may impose.

I like the dialogue and the flow of the story but there doesn't seem to be any twist – it is just a customer buying a gun. The additional details confused me a little more too. If he is going to hunt another animal then I assume it would be a man but there is no hint of that in the story itself. If you can insert a hint somewhere in the conversation you will have a nice little yarn there. The ending of the story is just right especially the touch with the bell softly ringing.
Do edit it though as you spelling is not what it should be e.g. Squeaking and shelves not squeking and shelfs. Also I'm not sure whether a rifle barrel would be made of iron nowadays so I would check on that as well. Good luck with your writing and keep at it.
