Dehumidifier Perfect

How can I ensure a perfect paint job the first time?
My husband and I recently painted out bathroom with pretty disasterous results. You can see the line were we painted the edges (along trim, counters, etc) and then filled in the large part of the wall. There are drip marks everywhere.
I sanded the drip marks down, refilled areas that needed to be refilled. I have enough to put another coat of paint (it's a light color). Do I need to put primer over the patched areas? How do I prevent drips?
We put a dehumidifier in our bathroom for while we're working in there. It warms up the room as well as taking moisture out of the air. Is there an idea humidity that paint dries best at?
Painterman - We put down a coat of primer then two coats of paint on top of it - that's the disaster that I'm trying to clean up now. Do I still need primer and two coats for the WHOLE room...?
The absolute best way to get a perfect paint job is to follow these steps:
1. Sand down the entire room with smooth sandpaper'
2. Wipe down the excess sand on the walls
3. Clean the walls
4. Prime the walls
5. Put two coats of paint on the walls
You can avoid drips by not putting too much paint on your brush/roller. It would be easier to avoid drips with a roller. When using a roller you should roll in the shape of an M. I know it sounds weird, but that is the best way to get even strokes. If you see drips while rolling, just roll over the drip and it should just blend in.
You do NOT need to put primer over the patched areas. Primer is best when starting a paint job from scratch or to cover up dark paint colors.
I do not know anything about humidity and paint, but paint usually dries within 24 hours. You also should not be sleeping in a room that was just recently painted because the fumes are unhealthy to breathe in.
Hope this helps!
