Digital Electronic Safe Question about joules and monster power center?
I just recently bought one of those monster power centers specifically designed for PC's. I heard that it could help get rid of some of the interference that I was hearing on my computer speakers, but I haven't seen it go away yet. Why is this device not getting rid of my interference? And second. I am trying to understand what the "joules" mean? My computer is about 400-500 watts, and this "digital power center" that I am using now has 1080 joules of surge protection. I'm wondering how to find out how much joules you need for certain electronic devices, and I would like to say that in this surge protector I have my HD 19 inch monitor plugged in, the PC, and my all in one printer plugged in. Should everything be safe? And why?
joules are the measure of power that the device can resist. The amount of joules that you need depends on how much the equipment costs. Everything should be safe. With the interference, it could be a cable problem because power usually won't affect performance, unlike in the description Monster uses for its products.

Flying: Going through security at airport with electronics?
I am flying to VA from TX with my family this holiday, and I want to take my camera on board with me, along with my lap top. They are both electronic (camera is digital) and I'm wondering about putting them through the x-ray machine. is it safe?
Yes, it is safe. When you get to the security point, you will have to remove your laptop from its case. The security people will let you know if you need to do anything else. But the bottom line is that camera and laptop can be x-rayed safely.
