Digital Home Money Is replacing old dial thermostat with a digital one hard?
We are moving into a new apartment in Buffalo and would prefer a programmable thermostat. Is it just a matter of removing the old one from the wall and putting in the new one? Do we have to do anything to the furnace? Will a lay person in home repair be able to pull this off? I just want to save money on my gas bill this winter. Heating bills can be brutal in Buffalo!
yes it is usually very simple. Typically you have two wires that come out from the thermostat and the instructions tell you where to attached them easily. The wires are low volts so not much to worry about there. Typically all you will need is one phillips and/or flat blade screw driver. I would save the old thermostat to put back on when you move out.

Is a laptop tv tuner card worth the money?
I just purchased a Toshiba Satellite A355-S6925 and was considering purchasing a tv tuner card for it. My question is, will I get the local digital tv on it? Does it also need an antenna? Do I have to connect my cable wire from my home to it? And basically is it worth the money? Any insight on the tuner card would be appreciated. Thanks.
No its not. You would need at least an antenna and if you have cable, you couldnt use the tuner. You would have to se the tuner on the card to the output of your cable box and tune with the cable box. I've had half a dozen of them. If you want to watch cable on your pc, get a video capture card and tune it with a cable box
