Digital Lock Security
Digital Phone, Cable and our home security system going off when cable goes out? Need a fix for that.?
We recently had digital phone hooked up. We had cable for the computer and tv for years. I heard great things about digital phone, which, eh, it's ok. Clarity is not so great, even with a 5.8MH phone which is brand new.
That's not my problem though.
We have a security system for our home, and that was installed 12yrs ago and is hooked up to the telephone line.
Apparently when cable goes out for just a second, our alarm sounds. It happened last night at 2am.
One box (alarm system) is located in my son's closet which is locked and I do not have a key. I would assume that is where the hook up is for the telephone cable.
Second box is in my other son's room, which is the electrical supply.
The company that installed the system is no longer in business.
My question is:
How do I get into the metal 20" X 15" box to disconnect the telephone line and which line is it , and how to do this without interupting the normal functions of alarm. It is not monitored.
That would all depend on the panel you have. What you have happening is TLM (Telephone Line Monitor) is set up to trip the siren when the system is armed. I am assuming the alarm is armed when the problem occurs. No filter will fix that problem.
As far as fixing it goes, you would be best off contacting a local alarm company that is willing to service a local (Non monitored) alarm system. Depending on the panel and brand and if the installers code is locked out or not it should be fairly easy. You could also fool the system into thinking there is a phone line by introducing 12VDC to it. Carefull though, if you don't know anything about electonics you might just fry something. Check on top of the panel for the key.
If you send me a message with the model number I might be able to guide you through programming it out. Once again, depending on if the installers code has been changed or locked out.

Where Can I find a big photo album that has some kind of a lock on it?
Im looking for a good size photo album that has a lock w/ key. Its not so much for security reasons for the photos as for looks. Im looking for one that is very feminine and fairy-taleish. If you could point me in the right direction that would be great, I have been searching and have came up with nothing..
Also what is a good digital camera? I am looking for a thin one with High Mega Pixels/Zoom and also one that has good software as well. Thanks so much.
