Digital Safe Electronic Plasma Ball Destroyed Electronic Digital Phone - Didn't it?
I just got my wife a plasma ball (about 8 inches) and I put it beside one of our cordless digital phones. The phone started to act funny on its stand but like an idiot I left it. The phone won't power up at all now and I am sure it is dead.
Can someone explain to me what the plasma ball might have done? I am sure its something to do with ionization, but how? Phone was about 2 inches from Plasma ball.
Also, if plasma ball (radiation?) is harmful to electronics then what is safe distance from it for other gadgets I have?
Maybe the plasma lamp gave the phone a charge up of a type it couldn't handle. Does the phone manual say anything about locating the phone at least a few feet away from other electronic appliances? Maybe you would be safer with an old plug in phone - not as convenient, but might be safer (have heard EMF could be an issue with cordless phones, like with mobiles). Good luck with it.

Question about Pressure canning?
I want to buy an electronic pressure cooker. Is it big enough for canning? I am scared to use an actual pressure canner and thought that a digital one will be safer. I want to can meat
Have never used an electronic pressure cooker but have used the old fashioned type many times to prepare meals and also to can.
There really is no danger if you follow the directions and they are very simple.
I think the only way you could have a problem using one is if you put foods into the cooker that you are not supposed to like rice, oatmeal, the kind of foods that foam alot.
All cookers come with great recipe/cook books and all the simple details you will need to create great meals or can almost anything.
Do not be afraid of them, they are simple to use and safe.
