What's the best gun for beginner and powerful ?
I am seriously looking into investing in a Gun primarily for protection.
There are a lot of crazy dangerous people in this world I would like to be able to protect myself should I come in contact with any.
This is not something I will use often, only in emergencies for safety.
I would like to get a gun that is discreet enough to carry around on me, so of course I am seeking a handgun.
I also would like something powerful, actually I would like a model with the power of a automatic double barrel shot gun which is the only gun I have knowledge of (I can't wait until I am able to make that big purchase for home security) However, I need a powerful gun to carry on me.
I would prefer a gun that doesn't get jammed, easy to use and I guess automatic.
Lastly, any informative websites with detailed facts on how to use guns, comparisons between different models and laws on carrying guns
Beginner gun that is still powerful.?
I would go no bigger than 9mm until you have learned control, safety, and all the other in's and out's of handguns. 9mm is a low recoil round but is still good for defensive purposes. It is also cheaper than the other defensive rounds so range time won't be as much of a wallet burden. YOu should go to the range at least once per month if not more to work on shooting skills.
Any semi-auot has the chance of jamming. Buying a good handgun, good ammo, and making sure you have a firm grip and posture while shooting is key to limit or get rid of any jamming. Also keeping a clean gun helps too.
Yes a shotgun is great for home defense if you are holding down one room. A handgun however is easier to search a home, gather family, operate a phone, flashlight, etc. Peak around corners and has less exposed if you become intangled in a close quarters fight with a possible intruder. as for suggested models...go looking at a local range or gun shop and pick up and hold as many as you can. The one that fits in your hand, and has a nice feel for you is the one you will shoot best with. But here are the models I like.

How to use the gun, laws on carrying and more will be explained to you at your conceal carry class. It will go over safety, defensive use, when and when not to use, etc. Make sure you are completely comfortable on how the gun works before you carry and you must obtain that permit before you do. Also carrying concealed is a big responsiblity. Make sure you understand that carrying a gun isn't a deterrant and you have to be at peace with the fact that you may have to use your weapon to protect yourself. Yes alot of situations are stopped by a permit holder pulled their gun and the attacker did not want to mess with that, but you may have to shoot. If you shoot there is no shooting to wound. Your class instructor if he or she is good will also go over the what to do's after you defend yourself if you choose to carry. It all goes hand in hand.
