Display Locking
setting global display settings on a windows xp pro domain computer?
im putting windows xp pro computers on a domain and i want to make every ones display settings the same and lock to the administrator of that computers settings, does anyone know the reg edit or another way to do this?
if your on a domain speaking from experience locking the registry is not the way to go, try using active directory policies so it can all be managed and controlled centrally

Loic vs. P-Lock
i can't put a background picture on my desktop my display background option is lock.what can i do?
when i click on display options and then click on desktop. my options to select a background is turn off. how do turn it back on?

If this is happening to your computer at work that is part of a network then it is a safe bet that there is a group policy preventing you from changing the desktop options. May companies do not want their employees downloading pictures and changing the look of the computers.
If this is happening to your personal PC then it may be the result of SPY WARE. There are a couple of fixes but not enough space here to write them out.
To fix this problem, visit these links. The registry edit seems to have the most positive results. Also, you need a good anti-spy ware program to remove the cause and prevent it from happening again. Try Windows Defender which is still free, but there are many others out there.
