Document Safe
How can I access my documents in safe mode?
My computer keeps giving me a bluescreen after 1 minute of getting to the desktop and I just want to access my files on the pc so I can clear everything off of it and boot it from scratch.
The PC works fine in safe mode but I can't access my personal files. I don't mind resetting the entire PC but I need some files from my documents. Is there anyway that I can retreive them?
OK this is long so bear with me......
Go into safe mode:
Open my computer> open C drive> open Documents and settings
Look for your profile> Open your profile
If it does not allow you to (access not authorized) do this
Right click on your folder> properties
do you have the security tab? if no
click from the menu> tools> folder options> View tab
Slide slider all the way to the bottom,
uncheck use simple file sharing
click ok, right click again on your profile> properties
Now you should see security tab, click it
Now click advanced, then the owner tab
Highlight administrators,
check replace owner on subcontainers and objects
click apply, it will run through all your files
in your profile and replace ownership to administrators
now click ok, close everything back to your profile windows
double click your profile, you should now be able to get in.
If not repeat the process for the next user on the owners list.
If it lets you in your profile, but not My Documents
then do the same thing above, but for your My Documents directory.
Personally I would try a system restore from safe mode back a week or so and see if you can get into your my documents from a normal start-up. Just in case you want to try:
Start> Programs> accessories> system tools> system restore

One thing I thought of, is if you set your profile for Private when you set it up, make sure you login under safe maode as the administrator. Even if you remove the drive and hook it to a External USB and connect it to another computer you will still have to take ownership of the profile directory, if it was set to private.

I am supposed to be sending coursework to my teacher but my computer is having a lot of trouble with viruses. Is it safe to end him the document while my computer has viruses on it?
I've tried removing the viruses but more and more keep appearing.

Your heart is in the right place, but you show moments of incredible naivete. You need to do more thorough research on many points. Yes, I agree with the notion that we need to curb lobbyist influence. We also need more accountability from our elected officials. We need more direct control over what they do in our name.
Wars happen. They always have and always will, period! As nice as the thought is, we will never have a world love-in. Every conflict the U.S. has ever gotten involved with as not been for the sole benefit of big business. Stating such absurdities only serves to diminish any credibility you have built up.
There's a pretty good start here, but your arguments need a lot more polish.
