How do I change the code on my garage door opener keypad?

If your garage door opener has a "Smart" button on the overhead unit, then programming is easy. Press and release the Smart button. A small LED light will glow next to the button. Within 30 seconds, go to the keypad (easiest to do with the door open, of course), type in the 4 digit code you want to use, and hold the Enter key. When it successfully programs, the light bulbs on the overhead unit will flash off and on, and 2 "clicks" will be heard. Let go of the Enter key, wait for the lights on the keypad to go out, and test your new code.

I too use the garage door keypad to get in and then have the door unlocked from the house to the garage. It’s definitely far from ideal – however this keyless entry would solve my problem!
Earl is right. You should talk to a lawyer, but just for future reference…don't let ANYBODY working for the other side give you legal advice. "you don't have a case" of course she's going to say that, she was hired by the company that is responsible.
To answer your other question, the reason it's important that it happened before is becuase if it didn't then it's just an accident, if it did, then management knew this could possibly happen but did nothing to prevent it. If they were out several times to fix the garage opener then maybe you don't have a case, because that could have been reasonable enough to prevent it, but you should still tlak to a lawyer, don't let this go without at least finding out. Many lawyers will give free consultations.
