Drop Door Volkswagen Golf electric window dropped into the door, motor sounds to be working?
Occasionally by pressing the electric window button, the glass moves slightly but, and I'm NOT an expert, the glass appears to dropped off it's runners. There seems three screws at the bottom of the door, if I remove the inside panel is it a straightforward job to re-position the window onto the 'runners' and tips much appreciated. Bhoyo
I kind of doubt that the window came off the runners. More likely the window regulator has broken and will need to be replaced. I believe that the regulator has several cables and pulleys that lift and lower the window. Since the motor runs, I would think one of the cables has either come loose or has broken. Take the door panel off and look inside to see if you can see anything obvious. Try to run the window up and down while you watch what the whole mechanism is doing. You should be able to figure out what you need to fix or replace.

does adding another push button to my elctric strike front door drop the voltage?
i am installing another button to my electric stike but when i did somehow the voltage drops. the stirke operates on 10v. and the transformer is also 10v the original button works fine but the new one only buzzes the door not enough current i guess to activate the strike...what could be the problem?
How long a wire run for the new switch?
I would guess that the wire size is not large enough for the length of wire run with the current that you need.
Options: a) Calculate the correct wire size and use that b) Increase the voltage and hope it isn't too much for when you use the shorter wired switch. c) use a low current relay activated by the switch that allows a short run for the main current.
