10 Electric Varadero motor mount plate
how do I fit a replacement plate on an electric hob?
I have a Brandt electric hob, one of the plates has stopped working. I have a new plate. I have removed the nut from underneath but I still can not get the old plate out. Any ideas what else is holding it?
I know there are 4 wires but there is something else holding it that is stopping it come out enough to get at the wires.
if i were you i would call someone out to deal with it, i would not touch anything like that. be very careful . you may do more harm than good. call a corgi electrician out. that is the best bet.

1. On the basis of zero actual evidence, China will reduce its carbon footprint sooner than we think? Really? Wow, that's a cool crystal ball you've got there. I never buy lotto tickets (a tax on stupidity), but I could make an exception if you could nonchalantly slip me six numbers between 1 and 49 before 8pm EDT on Saturday.
2. “Cost-efficient” means reduced cost of the new energy source must overcome the costs of switching. Not just dollars-and cents price, but costs. Since, overall, new energy sources are mucho more expensive, they fail the rational consumer's test. Other things like weatherstripping, blowing paper bits into the roof for insulation, and those cute little foam things underneath the electric plates and switches on outer walls (do they even do anything, I wonder), have to overcome costs AND hassle factors. The more you nudge a free market, the more it ain't a free market.
On transit, now you're being simplistic. You drive to work because you choose to live far enough away from where you work (or vice versa) despite the lack of public transit to get there. You choose not to cycle or car pool because it's not worth the hassle. Your lifestyle choices have you blaming the government for failing to spend the billions necessary to put a subway line between your front door and your place of employment. That's rich. I bet there are tens of thousands of people in your city alone who feel exactly the same way, but they do not all live within a five minute walk of your front door.
5. I guess I should have been more clear about the socialism comment. It was not about taxing non-gasoline fossil fuel. Governments tax things, they even tax things to discourage those things; that doesn't (necessarily) make it socialism. What makes it socialism is the pandering social redistribution built into the Liberal's Green Shift, mostly in areas of provincial jurisdiction of poverty plans and social programs, “finding new and creative ways for the government to butt in on the daily lives of more and more Canadians, that have nothing at all to do with CO2 emission.” And taxation will not rise to where it was before if they keep up with all that extra junk in spending they've tossed in, it'll have to surpass the previous confiscation to meet new spending, because if you haven't thrown another five billion at social housing in a program (regardless of the program), I guess you're just not a good Liberal.
