How significant will Dela Hoya's reach advantage be in his fight against Pacquiao?

6 inch reach advantage and 4 inch height advantage

Very significant. Oscar will get to pac's face quicker then pac, and pac speed is match speed with Oscar's. Also If you all remember, Juan Manuel Marquez neutralized pacs left hand, Once that was taken care JJM was winning rounds. One thing to keep in mind, Oscar has faced bigger power punchers than little pacman. Like Tito, Mayorga, Shane, Floyd, and Hopkins.
We are disgusted at Oscar's willingness to go after a small guy, But Pacman is a wolf disguised in a kitty suit.

One of three morale-boosting government documentaries directed by Lieutenant Colonel William Wyler (the others were The Memphis Belle and Thunderbolt), The Fighting Lady follows the exploits of an aircraft carrier, its crew, and the planes transported on its deck. The officers and enlistees are not required to perform; that function is handled by a professional narrator. Much of the combat footage resurfaced in the postwar era to bolster many a low-budget aviation picture. As an added advantage, The Fighting Lady was photographed in full color by Edward Steichen, meaning that the stock footage would come in handy on TV from the 1960s onward. The Fighting Lady is frequently released on videocassette in tandem with one or both of William Wyler's other government-sponsored films. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Mr. Braidwood, the able Superintendent, had for many years been training his men on a system, the original of which he had begun and proved in Edinburgh. Modifying his system to suit the peculiarities of the larger field to which he had been translated, he had brought the Fire Engine Establishment, (which belonged at that time to several insurance companies) to a state of efficiency which rendered it a model and a trainingschool for the rest of the world; and although he had not the advantage of the telegraph or the powerful aid of the land steam fireengine of the present day, he had men of the same metal as those which compose the force now. Is being a SHORT fighter an advantage many times?

Anyone who knows about MMA will tell you that being shorter allows for more muscle at the same weight class, but less reach in many cases. In a fight, does being shorter give people the advantage of better balance, slightly more strength (body builders are always shorter people and can press more weight), or any other benefits? Im guessing that in some disciplines (judo, wrestling) being shorter is an advantage, and these people can defeat a kickboxer or the like if they can get their hands on them. What do you think?

It all depends on your trainer. Obviously, it comes to a point where if you're too short then you won't be able to compete. IF you want to compete at HW with the big boys, then you need to be about a minimum of 5'8". Anything smaller than that and you're sacrificing too much reach and power. 5'8" has a nice combo of agility and power. See Igor Vovchancyn for an example of this.

If you're trainer is good, he will help you learn to fight in a style that will suit you against taller opponents unless you're like rediculously short for your weight class.

See Tyson at 5'9" (He was billed as 5'11" but he's really barely 5'9"). He doesn't fight like a conventional boxer but his trainer Cus D'amato helped him learn to duck and weave and just KO people with short, fast combos.
