What do you think of these guns?

My father just recently died and left me these firearms. I don't know anything about them, so I was just wondering if they're valuable or not.

-Beretta 950 Jetfire
-Beretta Cheetah 84
-Bushmaster M-16 5.56 semi-auto
-Aug MSAR STG-556
-Benelli M4 Super 90
-Winchester Model 1897
-Springfield something that fires a 45-70 gov't
-CZ-75 P01 (three)
-Dragunov SVD (two)
-Colt SAA 1888
-Taurus PT 92
-Spectre HC
-Beretta 92FS 9mm
-Remmington 700P
-Springfield M1A
-FN Five-seveN USG (three)
-Sig SG 556
-H&K MP5 semi-automatic
-K&K G3 M91

Is this a good collection? Are these guns worth anything? I have really no idea. I've already asked someone; I just want a second opinion.

Fair market value on the guns you listed there...assuming they are in excellent condition, would be about seventeen thousand dollars ($17,000). Give or take about $4,000.

Again, assuming they are in excellent condition, this is how I would price them...

-Beretta 950 Jetfire = $250
-Beretta Cheetah 84 = $400
-Bushmaster M-16 5.56 semi-auto = $1,000
-Aug MSAR STG-556 = $2,000
-Benelli M4 Super 90 = $1,000
-Winchester Model 1897 = $700
-Springfield something that fires a 45-70 gov't = $2,000
-CZ-75 P01 (three) = $300
-Dragunov SVD (two) = $1,500
-Colt SAA 1888 = $2,000
-Taurus PT 92 = $450
-Spectre HC = $250
-Beretta 92FS 9mm = $600
-Remmington 700P = $600
-Springfield M1A = $1,500
-FN Five-seveN USG (three) $1,500
-Sig SG 556 = $2,000
-H&K MP5 semi-automatic = $3,000
-H&K G3 M91 = $2,000

Things like telescopic sights, extra magazines, factory boxes and papwerwork, would all add value to the collection.

How do I prevent damage to my firearms and paintball marker when they've been through a fire (smoke damage?)

My house recently caught on fire, but the fire department reacted quickly and it was put out early enough for most of my possessions to survive. I used oxy-clean and other products to get smells out of most of my stuff, but I have valuable guns and a few things like my paintball marker that I don't want to risk damaging with cleaning products. I've already cleaned all of the guns with a normal maintenance clean (oiling and bore cleaning) but is there anything else I should/need to do to keep them from being further damaged? (I know the smoke and nasty chemicals from the fire are acidic.) Thanks in advance.
I had insurance that covers the home, but not on the guns, and I know that acids can eat into finishes, etc and ruin them.

I was a gunsmith some years back(license#47-09216) and I would suggest that your best bet would be is to take your firearms to a licensed dealer and have them put them through a "shotbox" to test fire them to be on the safe side. There should be no charge for this except maybe a few dollars for the cost of the rounds they use.It would be safer in the long run due to the fact that you don't want to be out in the field and all of a sudden your firearm blows up in your face due to corrision also, they will be able to check to make sure all springs, hammer, firing pin are working properly and not sticking and also if you have a slide action that it is not sticking or jamming, the same with ejection ports. If they do find anything wrong they will be able to inform you of their findings.Personally myself I would do a complete strip down and a hotblue job, this would put your firearms back to mint condition and you should check and see about purchasing a gun vault, this in itself is a lifesaver protecting your firearms and ammo from such disasters but, make sure you check the fire rating as each one will have a different one. Most vaults consist of armor plates with a fire resistance core (usually concrete) and you can use the vault for other personal items if you wish plus it is a big insurance deduction not to mention it would save the lives of firemen and your family.I can not stress enough don't listen to such individuals that say,if it looks clean or if it hasn't shown any wear, pits ect. by now it will not later because, depending on where you live the climate can have a big difference on your problem.I was a gunsmith for over 15 years and had to get out of it because of my health.I hope this helps you. P.S. When I say climate what I mean is, if you live for instance in arizona it will be alot drier climate thus taking longer to show any signs of problems compare to if you live in alaska where there's alot of moisture.
