Is it safe to clip a long haired cat yourself?
My cat's hair gets really long where it get's in her face. I take her to the groomers to get cliped but it cost $60 a visit and her hair grows back fast. The groomers tell me that she does well, so Can I clip her myself and do I need to buy special clippers? I have asked other groomers to clip her and they told me that it was to dangerous becasue their skin is to thin. I don't understand how you can cut them if you have a gard on the clippers.
Her hair grow so much on her chest, so when she lays down it goes in her face. She is a domestic long hair similar to a rag doll. Her hair never used to get so long, she is about 14 years old and she is getting gray hair in her coat never seen before with a cat.

When it gets in her face? I've never heard of a cat being groomed because hair "get in its face". And I have a Persian with a full coat - that's about as much hair as you can get in a cat. What kind of cat is this?
Do you GROOM this cat regularly? A steel-toothed comb is all you need to remove the loose hair of the undercoat. Brushes do little to remove the undercoat and can pull out and break the topcoat hairs. I comb my Persian at least every other day and he stays mat free, hairball free and without "hair in his face".

idk if its love but it feels like it. I really can get him off my mid.
