| | Ebac 45 Pint Desiccant Dehumidifier $1999 Lower humidity and prevent corrosion and mold growth with the Ebac 45 Pint Desiccant Dehumidifier (DD200). The smallest range of desiccant dehumidifiers by the manufacturer, the DD series features a compact, lightweight design intended for easy transportation and use in space-restricted areas. With a patented PPS Rotor, the DD200 unit incorporates 82% active desiccant silica gel to ensure quick drying - and continues operating at temperatures as low as -4° Fahrenheit. The unit incorporates a PTC heater to ensure maximum dryness is reached immediately and maintained constantly while the dehumidifier is in use. Offering a variety of monitoring features and electronic controls, the DD200 comes with an hours run meter that displays running time and an anameter that gauges the unit's drying effectiveness. Spigot connectors allow for quick and easy installation, with anti-vibration rubber feet and carrying handles for easy transport by one person. With a high-grade stainless steel construction, the DD200 is designed to remain rust-free, ensuring high performance and a long life. Unlike condensation and refrigeration-style dehumidifiers, desiccant dehumidifiers use desiccant: a silica gel that is an extremely effective drying agent. Since desiccant-based humidifers do not produce water, they perform exceptionally well when used in cooler climates, or when a low dewpoint, deep drying or low humidity levels are required - and continue to work effectively down to sub zero temperatures. Desiccant dehumidifiers operate by drawing outside air into the dehumidifier, then processing it by passing it over a wheel containing desiccant silica gel - a powerful drying agent. As the air passes over the wheel, any moisture present is absorbed into the silica gel before it leaves the dehumidifier as warm, dry air. As the silica gel wheel continues to rotate, a small segment of air passes through a second phase of regeneration. During this phase, a second air stream is heated to a high temperature before passing over the wheel - releasing moisture into this air stream and exhausting warm, wet regenerated air outside the area being dried. | | Eva-Dry Mini Dehumidifier $29.95 The Eva-Dry Mini Dehumidifier (E-333) is designed to adsorb moisture from small enclosed areas. This dehumidifier needs no power, just hang the Eva-Dry unit in a closet and it will start to adsorb moisture. There is an indicator window with special moisture meter crystals that change from blue (when dry) to pink (when wet) to indicate when the unit needs to be re-newed . The Eva-Dry mini dehumidifiers will adsorb approximately 6 ounces of moisture. Once the moisture has been adsorbed it cannot leak or spill. This Eva-Dry Dehumidifier uses a silica gel that is odorless, non-toxic and completely safe. When the indicator crystals turns pink it is time to re-new the unit. Simply remove the unit from where it is adsorbing moisture and plug it into a power outlet in a well ventilated area (bathroom with extraction fan, garage, outside, etc.). There is a built-in heater that will warm the crystals allowing them to expand and release the moisture as water vapor into the outside air. It takes about 8-10 hours to completely re-new the unit. When it is completely renewed the indicator crystals will change back to blue. Other key features that make this dessicant dehumidifier a solid choice. The E-333 is easy to Use: This Eva-Dry E-333 dehumidifier is completely maintenance free. Simply turn on and the gel within absorbs moisture. Compact Size Dehumidifier: This mini dehumidifier is designed for use in small spaces. Perfectly suited for places like closets or crawl spaces. |

Desiccant dehumidifier
Originally the dehumidifier is used in industries where maintaining a constant rate of humidity is critical to prevent bacteria and fungal growth in the manufacturing line. Then the dehumidifier is modified into a smaller size for home use to serve the same purpose. The humidity rate in the air is about 30 to 50 percent which depends on weather and season, the higher of the humidity, the better and faster fungal agents molding at. By reducing the rate of humidity, it will reduce the growth of microbes proportionally and remove the source of many infections due to high humidity.
Besides the fungal growth, the implications of high humidity at home are condensation of humidity that disturb your sleep and delay the laundries from drying. The use of desiccant dehumidifier will keep you stay away from fungal and providing a clean and healthy environment at home.
There are many types of dehumidifiers in the market, why only choosing the desiccant dehumidifier? Because it is the most effective and reliable based on the 4 major components working in one unit. In fact the desiccant material used in the dehumidifier is the silica gel which works highly efficient in creating an dehumidification effect at high relative humidity rates.
The first component is the desiccant saturates the air surrounding it when it exposed to high humid condition. Then it can be dehumidified later by exposing the saturated desiccant into a low humid condition. The theory behind this condition is similar with the dust inside a vacuum cleaner need to be removed before it can further evacuate dust from outside. The second component is the fan which helps to dehumidify the outside air. The third component is the heater built in the dehumidifier to heat up the air inside and at the same time, another fan to use the hot air to keep the unit dry through a holder which appeared to be the last component drain out the water.
The drained water is not suitable for drinking or watering plants in garden. It contains heavy metals like copper, lead, etc as a result of harvesting from the humid air. They are dangerous if consumed. It also contains few pathogens that can cause infection and hence is not potable. Alternatively you can use the desiccant dehumidifier with the cooling medium which provides deep drying at low rates of humidity, good operational and scalability.
