Ground Safe
how long does frozen ground beef stay safe to eat?
i bought ground beef two weeks ago and has been on the freezer ever since. is it still safe to cook and serve? how do i know if it should be thrown away?
It is good to eat. I grew up eating the beef that we raised. A cow lasts a long time in the freezer. When it has been in the freezer for a long time (more then a couple of months) the fat in it can get rancid. This doesn't mean that it isn't safe to eat, just not as flavorful. If you want to make it taste better when it has started to go rancid then add salt to it when it cooks. Do that and it tastes fine.

How much impedance is acceptable to ground to be safe from fatal shock?
Properly, it's called resistance. a 1/4 of an amp will kill you depending on your age. A severe shock at the age of 60 (for most) is fatal. The path of the shock through your body, e.g., point of ground through your arm to arm would pass through your heart. The length of time, in low voltage, would determine the damage as you "cook" inside out. High voltage is less forgiving. Low voltage deaths (the most common), causes your muscles to contract (115 vac), whereas higher voltages cause your muscles to expand therefore "blowing" you away from the conductor.
