Gun Jewelry Safe Piercing: Gun or Needle? Safer/Better?
I just read that's it's better for you to get your ears pierced with a needle than a gun, is this true?
Now I'm thinking, the times I pierced my own ears with an earring, they healed better than when I got it done with a gun at a jewellery shop.
I have my ears pierced 9 times (so far ), my nose and my belly button. 4 of the ear ones I did myself (got bored ).
The one I have at the top of my ear is a bit deformed as well (got it when I was 8 (am 18 now)) and I got that done at a jewellery shop.

Piercing needles are hollowed out. They cut out a little piece of flesh out as they go through, which is less traumatic to your body than a gun. Make sure your piercer uses a NEW needle whenever you get pierced, even if you were the last one to use that needle (they aren't as sharp after the first time and it's just sanitary to use a new one).
Guns just force a blunt object through. This can shatter cartilage and cause all sorts of trouble healing. Guns cannot thoroughly be cleaned, even in an autoclave. Not to mention, the people who pierce ears at Claire's and the like are trained on a Teddy bear and generally have no REAL piercing experience when handed the gun.

Removing a new fresh piercing that is now unwanted?
Is it safe to remove a fresh piercing? By fresh I mean new, and by new...well it was literally done a meer 24 hours ago. It was a gun piercing and I'd really like to remove it, allow it to heal and stick to needle piercing in future. Is it safe for me to remove this piercing so soon after it being done? I want for the hole to heal as well as possible once the jewellery is removed for good - AND do I continue to use the soltuon on the hole even with the jewellery removed to aid its healing? Thanks in advance
Wash your hands, clean the area thoroughly with anti-bacterial soap and then remove the jewelry.
Once the jewelry is out, continue to clean the area once or twice a day with anti-bacterial soap. NEVER touch the former piercing with dirty hands since hands carry germs. A new piercing is an open wound, so keep it clean like you would a cut.
Don't apply any ointments, alcohol, or peroxide to the area since they are all too harsh or irritating to a piercing. You can toss the piercing solution in the trash as long as you have access to a good anti-bacterial soap.
Just wash the area once or twice a day and otherwise leave it alone. It should heal shut fine. If it doesn't, see your doctor.
