Gun Safe Rack
How secure are your firearms?
I got to a friends home and in the rifle rack you find an airsoft toy, you find several air rifles and 22's, a 308 bolt action and a 12 gauge pump shotgun. No locks on anything. Ammo stored with guns.
On the table are two pistols. One is airsoft, the other is a 38 special revolver. It isn't loaded, but I watch a 11 year old spin the cylinder, point it at a 6 year olds head and pull the trigger.
A disaster waiting to happen! Everything I own including ammo fits in my Stack-On 19 gun safe. Everything in that safe has a trigger lock on it, including pellet guns.
How secure are you. Do you leave things out in the open for kids, before you say your kid has been taught, has you kid NEVER done something wrong? Why would you leave guns around or mix them with toys?
The parents have lost it. When I was growing up, we kept our guns in a safe, locked at all times, no matter what. And when we were playing, we weren't allowed to point any toy guns at eachother. Very safe if you ask me. Somebody has got to teach those kids something before they do something stupid. And the parents, as well.

Isn't it possible the Lester was killed by his wife in American Beauty?
I just finished watching American Beauty for the second time and realized that Lester's death is not as cut and dry as many think. In the scene in which his wife is walking towards the house, the gunshot heard is rather faint to be coming from inside the house that she's right next to. And while the circumstantial evidence (blood on Colonel's shirt and gun missing from his rack), isn't it possible the shot heard in the scene in which she's about to enter the house is the Colonel killing his wife (we don't know much about their relationship but it cannot be a happy one)? Furthermore, to me, the look on Carolyn's face when she goes into her room looks like "what did I just do?". Throwing the gun into the safe, I think, also supports this. What do you guys think?
