Gun Safe Test
How far do u have to be for a bullet to reach safe FPS(200-300)?
Ok this question may seem stupid but i want to know. It came from when i was on a shooting range, i noticed that the sand and dirt where the things stopping the bullets. I want to know how far u have to be from a bullet fired from all types of guns. (9mm parabellum Glock and 5.56x45mm NATO M4)....and please don't go out and test this i am not responsible for any kind of harm caused
No distance will be safe. The bullet itself will fall to the ground before it slows to a velocity that is not harmful.
Gravity affects all things. If that bullet is in the air, you don't want to be in it's path, no matter how far it has traveled. The only time it slows to a speed that isn't dangerous is when it stops in the dirt.
It doesn't matter what trajectory you use, a bullet is deadly as long as it is in the air.

What is your opinion?
1. Yes - who am I to decide what is and isn't right for another person? I have to worry about my husband, me and my daughter. That is where my right to decide things ends.
2. No. But everyone has the right to risk their lives to look younger/more "beautiful". If they choose to do that, fine by me. I am not really anxious to inject botulism into my body. . .
3. I think it is fine, as long as the cells are from dead or unwanted fetus's (feti? Who knows?). I think that if it will cure some very painful, debilitating diseases, it should go on. I am sure those against it would change their tune if they or someone they loved was aflicted with one of the diseases that could potentially be eased/cured with the research.
4. Yes. I saw one of the camps, and I have a grandfather that was one of the liberators of one of the camps. He told me some horrific stories. I also am married to a history professor (specialty is WWI and WWII). He has a hell of a lot of documentation and first hand accounts to state it did happen.
5. Not until they can decide how to properly represent all religions fairly and equally. They can't right now, and if they went by most "popular" in the way of the most participants, Christianity would not be it - Muslim would be. That would bunch up the bloomers of the Christian Right, wouldn't it?
6. I think if the word "God" is taken as it was written - to represent faith, not a specific religion, then it should be allowed. I mean, Buddha, Zeus, and Allah are all Gods, right? There is nothing that states the word "God" to be a Christian-specific word.
7. Don't know enough about that to state an opinion. Until I know more, I choose not to consume it.
8. No. I think that certain ones should only be available to collectors, and take additional information/training/waiting time before possessing, but I think it is the right for everyone to have a gun if they so choose. I mean, it is the person pulling the trigger that is doing the killing - not the gun itself. And criminals tend to not like laws (hence the term "criminal"), so banning guns will only keep them out of the hands of the law abiding.
9. On a case by case basis. There are people that commit crimes that are able to be rehabilitated. But there are some that are beyond help. I think that if a person is a habitual criminal, and has no desire to "straighten out and be a productive member of society", then they have not earned the right to keep their lives if they took someone else's. Why should their right to life supercede their vicitm's?
10. No. If you want to test something that humans are going to use, go right to the ones that will use it - test it on humans that volunteer. I think that companies might then take a little more care with their creations. . .
