if i used steel bb's in a 450 fps sniper bb gun would it be able to kill a bird?
would i be able to take out a bird with a powerful sniper rifle bb gun using steel bb's?
Yes it will... I use to kill birds with the old Single cock BB guns when I was a little kid... be careful.. even BB Guns can be dangerous. PS.. I'm an adult but I STILL have the Pumpmaster (Daisy) for Squirrels.
I find it amusing that so many people say NO.. when I CLEARLY know that its possible because I've done it!!!!
I've killed Dove AND Quail with the old Daisy Red Rider BB gun...which by the way had a velocity of 350FPS.. I FILLED our deep freeze with game. When I got older I graduated to the Pumpmaster. So.. DONT sit here and give all kind of calculations about how it will or wont kill something 5 feet away when I was shooting them off the powerlines at 35 feet+.. IF YOU DONT "REALLY" KNOW IT.. WHY ANSWER?

Bb Guns: Have Fun With Them
We all love to play with different kinds of toys during our childhood. One very popular toy amongst kids these days are BB guns. If you are not known to them then let me just tell you that you will find as if children are playing with real firearms. But it is not so as they are just replica of firearms. The gun is named after the projectiles which are being used in it to shot at things. The projectiles are known as BB and that is why the gun is named so. The projectiles are available basically in two shapes out of which one is spherical and other is pointed. One can use any of them as they are not harmful to people using the BB gun. The BB guns which you find these days are little different from the earlier ones. The modern BB guns have a barrel which is smoothbore. Apart from BB gun there is also a difference in the BBs used in the gun. They are made up of steel with a coating of zinc or copper on it to prevent them from corrosion.
There are different types of BB guns available in the market out of which you can buy anyone which you like the most. One very famous BB gun or pellet gun is known as Airsoft gun. These guns have spherical projectiles from a smoothbore barrel. In general airsoft BB guns have a diameter of 6mm or 0.24 inches. The projectiles are either made up of plastic or materials other than metal in order to ensure no harm is caused to the user or any other person around. BB guns can be distinguished on the basis of their working operation. There are some which shoots with the help of compressed air or gas. Then one is of the spring piston type which is made on the basis of a lever action rifle. There are many people who think that BB guns shoot at a low velocity and thus are not suitable for shooting competitions. However this is not true as there are many shooting competitions in which people participate with a BB gun.
No matter what kind of gun you are using and one should be careful while using it. Never play with a loaded gun even if it is a BB gun. Whenever you are using a gun wear safety glasses so that no harm is caused to your eyes.
In short BB guns are best children and bird shooting as it shoots at a low velocity. There are present different types of BB guns which vary from one form to other in terms of operation.
