Modern hand cuffs ensure quality and efficiency
Earlier hand cuffs weren't that successful in fulfilling the purpose for what they were made. They were manufactured with an assumption that one size would fit the wrists of any person. The suspected individual on being handcuffed felt quite uncomfortable due to the inefficiency of the hand cuffs. The hand cuffs which are being designed during the recent times have come across the limitations or pitfalls witnessed centuries ago and they are now constructed with an aim to ensure that the restraint devices meet the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Standards where they should be free from defects such as cracks, loose parts, unfinished welding and so on. The key is used to check if it unlocks the handcuffs with ease. They are also tested for proper opening and closing functions.
Well renowned brands construct hand cuffs, which are of high quality for usage by law enforcement and security officers. To avoid chipping and scratching a process called Electrolytic Polyurethane Plating (EPP) is used.
