Can the spouse of an US student visa holder get a work visa?
I am travelling the America next year as a student athlete. I am getting married in January 2010 and I wish for me "then to be" spouse to travel to the US and stay with me for the duration of my time over there.
I know she can apply for a spouse visa, but does this allow her to work? Or would she have to apply for a work visa when she is out there?
Any help would be great.
No, she cannot work under the F-2 (spouse) visa. Neither can she study.
She cannot simply "apply for a work visa", she has to get hired by a company willing to sponsor her visa. Her skills need to be high demand and it usually requires at least a bachelor´s degree and years of experience.
Most likely you will have to provide for her while you´re there, she really cant do anything on the F-2 visa.

Cute Place Card Holder?
Does anybody have any ideas on how to make a place card holder for a birthday party? The party is for a teenage girl.
I'd buy them, but I have a kind of low budget. Links would be great!
Purchase some pipecleaners in a variety of colors and create the holders yourself! You can add flowers, or feathers, or leaves, whichever you prefer and have the budget for. You can also get popsicle stix, spray paint them your theme color, and glue them in a way to allow a card to be in them. Mini pinecones (purchased by the bag) can be sprayed with glitter and are a great place card holder! Anyway, you don't need alot of dough to make something nice and memorable.
