870 is a good gun, they do sell shorter tubes.... and NOTHING beats the sound of a pumpgun getting ready for work in the dark of night..... buckshot works well, as would #4 shot. the tacticle light with a remote switch works good, too. if you use sights, try the projected red dot sights or the glow in the dark "trijicon" sights

I would like buy a gun for my home and wonder where i can get the best price. ie: pawn shop, gun shop, gun show, private seller etc.
I bought 1 gun at a gun shop and 11 from off the internet. Gunshops won't or can't compete with internet pricing. The only problem is that you have to get that gun transferred to a local gunshop (FFL). The local gunshop normally wants $50 for the transaction. I found an FFL near me that will do it for $30 bucks...so I buy everything now online and get it sent there...I typically save $100-$150 per firearm this way!! here is a list on websites to buy guns
