Is there a safe at home detox for someone addicted to presription drugs?
I know someone who has been addicted to pain meds for years and has no health insurance. How can he get clean safely?
there are no absolute answers to your question, it can be both safe and unsafe. however many "treatment facilities" actually don't do much to detox you other than supportive care. If your detoxing narcotics at home you need to monitor blood pressure to be sure it doesn't get too high.Mostly you would be physically very miserable, so treat the symptoms. take asprin or tylenol to help regulate body temp. as chills/'sweats are an issue. use immodium for diheria, hot tubs for muscle cramps. keep fluid intake up to combat dehydration. the only meds you absolutley have to have medical care for as the detox can be fatal is heroin and alcohol.Sometimes short of in patient treatment the best thing to do is come clean with one of the docs who wrote scripts, yes you ( by you I mean anyone) took them but they wrote them. they should at least offer you blood pressure meds , some of which do have a calming affect, chlonodine is common, anti dihhereals perhaps muscle relaxers or sleep aids. ( don't use over the counter sleep aids they'll just make it worse) If somenoe can keep the narcotics for him'her you can tapper them down to some degree. for example go from 20 Day to 10 for severaldays then 8 , 6, 4 for a week or more then 2 -0. thats hard too.ultram a non-narcotic pain med can really help, it fills some of the same brain receptors and can eleviate or eliminate lots of the suffering, eventually you'll have to tapper those as well.get a good support group like N.A. and God help you. It can be done you only have to do it once.

hah ha every insurance company claims if you convert from your filthy old ins company to their trustful home of happiness ins company, your 300$ 400$ 500$ will be saved.
it could be perfect if their finance and insurance experts get together debates like presidents so we can understand which one is real saver. then winner pay drinks at bar after debate. drive safe.
Their comparisons are based on whats advised by your current insurance company, compared to the absolute bare minimum allowed by law. I live in Ny sate and have the recommended coverage on my cars,Not the bare minimum. I called around to all the local companies because a co-worker boasted he pays half what I do for twice as many vehicles. What I found out is,All the underwriters prices were within $1 of each other for the same amount of coverage.My co-worker has the bare minimum on his vehicles. This is cheaper,but,can leave him/you wide open to huge financial responsibilities if you became involved is a bad crash. Like loosing your house, life savings,wages,ect. One insurance co, is presently running an add regarding this topic.

Up until April of this year, proof of legal status was not required in obtaining a license in Wisconsin. A lot of undocumented people secured licenses here, and, then, moved and transferred them to the new state. My feeling is this: if the thought of getting a license legally will make people that aren't yet capable of driving on the streets, wait, then, I am for it….. I think that if we can have everyone that is behind a 2000 pound machine licensed, then, it would be a safer world for all of us……
