Honeywell Commercial
Will our Honeywell Commercial VisionPRO TB8220U thermostat work with a gas american standard home furnace?
I can't seem to get the programming working and our contractor said that this particular thermostat would only work with electrical furnaces in a commercial setting and not a residential high efficiency gas furnace...i was told otherwise when i first bought it and was just looking for clarification.

Oh yeah, it'll work, matter of fact it could probably navigate the NASA space shuttle. But it wont do anything easily, Did you see the manual on it? It's as thick as the bible. Now of course im stretching it just a bit, but Im a 23 year hvac tech and even I have trouble configuring it. I hate Carrier, They can take something that could be alot simpler and ALWAYS make it into something else. They are worse about this than perhaps even Lennox "maybe". Oh well to answer your question google the manual and decide for youself if its worth all that effort just to turn on a gas furnace.Cause yes it can do it. Goodluck

Replacing Old Honeywell Thermostat?
Hello, I have a Honeywell thermostat in my bedroom I'd like to replace. The model I have is T6169B4-17 Fan Coil Thermostat. The thermostat features a single fan and system switch position hot -off-cool. I am told it uses 115V. I am not sure how many wires are in the back (2 or 4). I was also told that this is a commercial grade thermostat and is hard to find a replacement. Can anyone help with any compatible models names?
Forgot to mention that I managed to get an agent from Honeywell on the phone and he said I might be able to use RLV4300 or RLV450 but even they were not 100 % sure

Found this [Honeywell which is pretty good (but it’s PDF and Scribd which some folks hate – printable at least). Although this [Johnson Control HVAC training (catalog zip of course syllabus is $$$$, if you look at the syllabuses of courses you can probably get enough keywords to track down free stuff from Google. It includes what’s in the Honeywell link but goes into industrial applications as well. [Honeywell has similar to Johnson Controls which also includes industrial HVAC. These two companies are the dominant industrial HVAC companies in the US. Professor Johnson (who founded Johnson) *invented* the thermostat in the 19th century. My late father worked at Johnson for >30 years so I got most of this content from reading *his* copies as a teen. Also worked for Johnson a few summers in college.
