How to make lipton ice tea using teabags?
Okay, I've never made lipton ice tea, let alone tea it self beofre, and i'm trying to. I don't understand the instructions, it says something about brewing, but i don't know what brewing is.
So can soemoen please explain to me how to make it, and do i open the teabag or do i put teh teabag in the water, also how do i brew thanks
My aunt from Oaklahoma had always ice tea you couldn't beat. what she did was used a large Best Food Mayonauise Jar (the large one that is like a galon and you would get at a Smart and Final store or a Cosco, I don't know what state you live. she washed it out real good, but then she used the same pan for years! After that took 6 Lipton Tea Bags (they were her preference and the only ones she wuld use, ........not the large bags bt the stadard size tea bag with the string and paper on the tied end (saying Lipton's tea!) After that, she used a little stainless steal sauce pan that she only used to boil the tea bags and nothing else.) and only put cold water in the jar up to about 2 inches from the top, maybe litle less or more, depending how high it goes after you put the tea bagsin after they have sat from boiling (if you are making
Sun Tea which I forgot to mention in the beginning, but itdoesn't matter if it is any season, just set the jar of cold water with the 6 tea bags that have been boiled in the little sauce pan ONLY boil the tea bags until the water comes to a boil and then ta it mmediately off the fire or if you have as stove, just turn it off and leave it to sit for 5 minutes, and then lift the tea bags out of the sauce panby the string and paper at end, (it isn't hot) and then put them into the mayonaise jar of cold water,making sure tat the jar is pretty much filled to the top,maybe two or so inches lower than the tp, and the she put square of tin foil, maybe about a square 8 to 10" on the top and then screwed the lid on and set it where it wuld be in the sun, for at least 3 to 5 hours, or it sort of depends on weather cxonditions, if it isn't over 70 degrees, then leave it fdr 5 hours, but at least until it turns rich rich rddish sarkish brown and clear it ill be !!! And you will be ablet determin after you make it a time or two, and then become a pro! Believe me, it will make the best jar of ice tea ever. Also, very important, ..........do not put the tea after brewed in the fridg because it changes the acid in it and turns te taste bitter and peculiar, as well as really cloudy . Just leave it on th counter in the jar, and pour it from there. for excellent and best favor this is is why when boling the water for a second fully and then remove it and tn add the tea bags for 15 minutes after taking the water off theheat, not before. . make sure the water just comes to a full boil for just a brief sec or so and get it off the heat, becausa the heat is what makes it become acidity tasting and sometimes bitter and cloudy ad remeber, very important for good ice tea, and thatis: never use warm water for the start in the large jar,and make sure the jar is always glass, too! an always cold water, becauseit JUST does make the difference, don't know why! If you liike it with sugar, don't put it in until after you make it, and also fresh leon slie and some lemon squeezed in the glass of tea with ice cubes no hanled by your hands is another tip!don't know why, it just makes the differene, and the ice tea is awesome and another interesting condiment in the glass of tea for those who like it is a sprig of mint leaf ....is a nice refreshing change, and then make sure it is served also in a glass that is made out of glass and not plastic, with plenty of ice that you do not touch with your hands, and another tip that is nice but not necessary, is a pre frozen glass from freezer witrh ice in it is super and makes the tea great even and stay ice cold longer and flavor stays well until all drank up..... even though the ice begins to melt. I like to rub the lemon slice around the brim of glass and then put the slice of lemon in the glas of tea. Trust me, you will love it and so will everyone who drinks it,the more you make it, it becomes so easy and it will get better and better and better!!! Good -Luck!!!
