Iced Tea
Why do people put iced tea in the sun?
All the time, especially during summer, I see people making their own iced tea. I still have not figured out why people put the tea outside on their porch in the sunlight? What does this do? Does it enhance the flavor, does it put vitamins in it? I dont understand.
the sun provides gradual and even heating and you do not need to steam up your house boiling water, a very important factor in the days before air conditioning. now it is a fun tradition.

How To Make a Long Island Iced Tea
How do you make Thai iced tea?
Does anyone know how to make Thai iced tea and where I could go buy the tea? I live in an area where all the restaurants serve it and there are tons and tons of Asian shops around but I haven't been able to find the actual tea.
Any tips or recipes would be great! Thanks in advance!
Here's a recipie I found on the Food Network website, and it contains ingredients that should be easy to find:
Ingredients
6 cups water
1 cup Thai tea
3/4 cup sugar
6 tablespoons cream
6 tablespoons condensed milk
Directions
In a kettle, bring the water to a boil. Place the tea in a teapot or glass container. Pour the water over the tea and let steep until bright orange in color, 3 to 5 minutes. Strain into a clean container, such as a pitcher (or, if in tea bags, remove the bags). Add sugar and stir to dissolve. Let cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Fill 6 tall glasses with crushed ice and add tea to 3/4 full. Add 1 tablespoon cream and 1 tablespoon condensed milk to each glass.
Serve with iced-tea spoon so guests can swirl the mixture themselves.
