Indicator Cards
My PC emits a buzzing sound when I turn it on, but it does not register with the monitor. Any fix it ideas?
I opened up my PC to put in new memory, but didn't have any extra memory slots. I noticed dust bunnies inside so I sprayed air inside, but I sprayed at an angle and some of the liquid sprayed out toward my video card area/ethernet area. My PC buzzes and the monitor power indicator turns green, then orange as if its on stand-by.
The liquid that came out of the can could have landed on your video card, or anywhere else in your computer. Liquids inside of your computer can cause all sorts of problems, such as a short in your system.
Loss of video can be can be caused by a number of different things.
Ground yourself by touching the outside of your case. This removes any electro static charges built up in your body.
Make sure that all of your memory modules are seated correctly. An unseated memory module can cause loss of video.
Carefully remove the video card. Inspect it for any deformities such as burnt circuits, blown capacitors or resistors, or liquid residue. If any residue is found, try to wipe it off with a static free cloth.
Take any normal eraser (preferably an artists white eraser) and rub it on the pins of your video card that connect it to the slot on the motherboard. Doing this gets rid of any oxidation that might have built up on your card.
If none of this works, try putting in a new video card temporarily if you have one around.
As for the buzzing. Look around to see if there are any wires or anything else that are touching fans in your computer.
The buzzing could be caused by fans, disk drives, or hard drives.

when i switch on the computer there is no video display.am i to change vedio card?how to test?
i suppose video card is o.k as there is indicator telling it is fine?then where is the problem?in connecting wire!kindly help?
hi frnd............chk all the connections .................from monitor to cabinet (...display cable )and power cables.........and do one thing .........juz connect with the power cables and switch on the monitors you get a blue screen .then connect to cabinet .......still you not getting display then problem with your cabinet hardware ..........for display graphic card is necessary ..............then clean your RAM.............and place it again ...............still nothing happens ............then i think your monitor has to be repaired
