Iron Brass
What is the best way to remove a brass drain plug from a cast iron pipe?
It is 4" pipe that is approximately 35 years old. And no, using a chisel and hammer is not an option nor is calling a plumber.
I would probably try some penetrating oil and pipe wrench. If that doesn't work get a blow torch and heat up the cast iron around the drain plug but not the actual drain plug. This should expand the threads in the cast iron but not the brass plug and should turn out.

what would be the soldering method for 1mm thick galvanized iron and 3.5mm thick brass?
Galvanized sheet metal responds very well to rosin core solder or if you will the type of solder that plumbers have on a roll with the flux in a jar or small can, bonding it to brass you must tin the brass first with a light coat of solder and then use a pretty good sized gun to do the heating. 50watts with a 1/2" ROUND head and well cleaned and tinned. they are about a foot long and sheet metal shops have some if you need to see one....Silver instead of lead is great ..do all this in a well ventilated room and remember that the fumes created by the process are not to good on your lungs....Possibly the last way you might use is a
tig system set very low with a sliver solder and flux like ac people use on their system. It can be done but it takes skill and lots of special set up.....Have a good one from the E....
