Itch Safe Hide
Poodle keeps humping things in my house?
Can someone help
Got a poodle and it is a little bit too friendly with things if you know what i mean.
Pillows off the sofa are not safe large teddy's the kids have.
Bloody cat dare not even come in.
anything really it just keeps mounting things in my house.
I have kids and have to tell them the dog has a bad itch.
Dog belongs to a friend who is away on holiday,i am dog sitting for another week and half.
Do not want to say anything to my mate,plus she as never said the dog as done out like this i know the dog and never seen it do out like this at her house.
is they anything i can buy and spray on my stuff to keep this dog off my things.
it is a bit much i have had to hide everything for now,
but woke this morning to find it had got a tea towel off the side and was getting rude with that which has now gone in the bin.
Any one any ideas PLEASE
This isn't a sexual thing, it's a dominance thing. He wants to establish himself as "top of the pack" in your house. (In dog language, humping literally means "I am above you") He may not do this at home, since the pecking order there is already established. I suggest you tell him a firm "No!", pick him up, and put him someplace boring and isolated for 5 mn, like the bathroom, so he knows he won't get attention or reward for the behavior.

Itchy Daze - Monster [HQ]
New question, same hamster.. this time, she wont stop itching.?
So I just caught my hamster. She was missing all day. But I've been watching her and she's eating alright and drinking alright but she wont stop rubbing up against things like she's got a really bad itch. but she wont scratch it. I don't know what is under the cabinets where she was hiding, and I don't know if its safe to wash them with a little drinking water. The last responce I got here was really helpful, so I'm hoping maybe one of you could help me with this too.. Thank you..
what areas of herself is she rubbing against things? hams have scent glands in their hips (and shoulders I believe). Rubbing up against walls, cage bars - you - is their way of marking their scent on things and yep, the girls do it too. My baby would rub up against a wall and come away with a white streak down from nose to tail from the paint dust in one of my rooms. It could be your ham, having run wild, is now returned home and remarking her territory since she's been away. My guess since she's rubbing, not itching with her nails or trying to clean with her hands.
for cleaning, I actually have a little tray in the corner of my ham's cage that I fill up once or twice a week with regular sandbox sand I bought a bag of at the local store. Hams like to dig and clean with sand so its a safe way for her to have fun and get clean without getting wet and I don't have to worry about dust the way you do with chinchilla sand. I'm about to cause a controversy with this last bit of advice but I stand by it having done so myself. You can use a damp towel or face cloth and brush her down that way too - no soap, just water. The trick is you need to make sure she stays somewhere warm and out of a draft afterward until you're sure she's thoroughly dry. Hams catch colds easily because they don't have much control over their body temperatures (think of those tiny cold feet first thing in the morning and you get it). A wet ham is very susceptible. That's why they say never to bath them in water. Not because hams are little Oz witches that melt when you put water on them. anyway, congrats on getting your baby back, she sounds like she's just fine.
