Large Drop Safe
I need to know what is safe for my betta?
I recently got a male betta fish about 3 to 5 days ago and his water has gotten foggy. I changed the water yesterday and it is looking foggy now. Today i went to Walmart and picked up some fish supplies. I got Bowl Buddies Crystal Clear and some small sphere food. I want to know If the crystal clear is safe for my fish. I dropped a drop in and it had no effect. And the Bowl Buddies are small tablets about the size of a button say 1 tablet for 2 gallons of water (Tap) It is supposed to pureify it. And finnaly I got a big WWII tank for him which takes up a large portion of his space but he seems to like it because he is always going in it. And he is a big bubble blower. Every time i walk in my room there he is blowin a bubble.
So please help me find out a little more about those products and a little more about the betta fish
Okay, firstly I have never heard of the products you are using. But I just had to ask, (cos you didn't mention it) are you running a filter? if so, what kind? and what filter media are you using?
To be honest, with very little information and feeding habits and things I cant do much more other than hazard a guess and advise:
If you dont have a filter, invest in one.
It sounds to me like he is being kept in a small Betta fish bowl? maybe one that is 3-5 gallons...(if that) not to lecture, but this isnt really suitable for a Betta fish. They CAN live in such small bowls...but they flourish better in bigger tanks.
The bubble blowing is part of the mating "ritual" he blows bubbles and they stick together on the surface of teh water, then he woos a lady friend, takes her back to his bubblenest and they mate (i.e he squeezes the eggs out of her, fertilises them, carries them in his mouth and puts them into the bubbles and guards them until they hatch.
Let me just state here that although he is blowing bubbles DO NOT add a female betta under any circumstances. She will not be ready for mating and should be allowed to prepare for it in a space of her own where she is aware the male is there, but he cant get to her to harass her and nip her. (read more about Betta mating if you're interested in it) but you will need at least a 10gallon tank for that not to mention another tank to house all the young when they hatch.
Ahem, yeah, so for you betta currently I would get him a filter (if hes not got one already) and a bigger tank.

Is "dropping" an SUV safer?
My boyfriend an I are expecting our first child and already have a large pitbull as our other child. So we are considering buying an SUV. He says any SUV he buys he'd want to "drop" or lower. I guess in theory it makes sense to think this will make the SUV safer. As we all know, so many SUV's are notorious fo rollovers due mainly to their higher center of gravity. So does anyone know for sure if dropping an SUV will make it any more safe? Thanx in advance...
You have to drive pretty crazy to rollover any car, you can rollover a dropped suv if you really want to also... Make sure he gets some nice rims for it too. It would make it harder to rollover but why would it do that in the first place... You have to be always sure to drive so your loved ones are safe all the time. Good luck
