Is Windex Bad for electronic items?
I've always used windex to clean my electronic items such as computer screens, psp, xbox 360, tv screen, etc. I just damply put windex on a paper towel and I have never had any problems with it. But, I've always heard people freaking out and telling others not to clean electronic items with windex. Well, I've never had a problem with it, so, is it bad? Or is it just a scandal to get you to pay a crap load of extra money to buy "special" cleaners?
its only bad when the windex gets inside and damages electrical components but completely safe on the out side

Ras Bolding - Load Error
Is there a mechanical load to a running alternator connected to a battery that has an electrical load? Why?
A running alternator normally charges a battery. Since an alternator acts as a battery charger (plus all the electrical/electronic controls), according to wikipedia, a charger forces electric current through the battery
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battery_charger).
While charging, what is the actual source of DC power for electrical items of the vehicle: the battery or the alternator? If it is the alternator, is there a corresponding mechanical load to the alternator while the power of the battery is being used by electrical items of the vehicle? Why?
Please explain fully as I am very much confused at this point.
My million thanks to kind souls!

ellemuor:
Yes, there is a mechanical load.
The alternator is an electro-magetic device that creates a field strength from its electrical load. Load is created by operating vehicle accessories (lights and A/C have the highest 'demand'), as you state.
Your basic question is thus: what mechanical force operates the alternator? Response is: chemical potential (gasoline) is converted to rotary motion (engine turning crankshaft) and transmitted via pulley and belt. A belt drives the alternator.
Electrical demand places a larger or smaller load on the alternator depending on which accessories are in use. This load is 'paid for' in how much gasoline is consumed by engine.
Also, the battery essentially serves one function: to crank the engine. With the engine turning, the alternator can recharge the battery.
Finally, the alternator produces alternating current which is 'rectified' (converted) to direct current.
You should see from this explanation that the battery and alternator are complementary and not in use simultaneously.

I am enclosing some more tips on saving. I have made frugality a way of life.
Use the e coupons provided by shortcuts.com and pgesaver.com to load electronic coupons to your shoppers cards, also sign up for upromise.com that allows you to place electronic coupons onto your shoppers cards–this program pays into a college fund for a benefactor. The twist to saving the most is to combine four different methods–all the internet coupons and paper coupons at a store that doubles coupons. This takes some preperation, but in the end you end up scoring free products with free money going into a college account. Scour the sales ads before you start and only write down items that you need that are on sale, or items to stock up that are on sale that you can apply a coupon to.
For example–a store has ragu spaghetti sauce on sale for $1.29, I find that I have 9 paper coupons for .60 off a jar, and that store doubles coupons–I will buy all nine jars for .09 each total cost .81. Less than one jar.
In using the E coupons, first load them onto your cards and make a list of all the coupons and thier value. Scour the ads and find the items that you have e coupons for, write them down, then go to your paper coupons and find identical coupons for the E ones, write that amount next to the E ones. If your store doubles them, then write double the amount next to it. Then apply it to your list and watch the savings grow. You can use paper and E coupons in the same order for the same item. As an example–Betty Crocker Frosting is on sale.for $1.99. I find a E coupon for .50 off in shortcuts.com, then I find a paper coupon for .60 off the frosting, which my store doubles to $1.20, the store card also takes off .50 on the frosting with the E coupon, so combined I recieved $1.70 off the frosting, making the cost a mere .29.
Scour the internet for free printable coupons, and use them at stores that double them. Some great sites are: smartsource.com; coupons.com; couponsuzy.com; couponmom.com, WOWcoupons.com; redplum.com; thriftykitty.com; couponcat.com.
Search up local stores that you shop at. I do know that Kroger and Piggly Wiggly have coupons that you can print from thier homepage. Miejer has coupons in the meijer meal box section that you can print and use at thier store only. The other two stores you can use them anywhere. Save A Lot has a $5.00 coupon that you can print when you sign up for their shoppers emails. Many of these sites ( Walmart too) also have links to where you can request free samples from the store.
If it is free items you are looking for-mysavings.com and ppgazette.com, have a ton of them, broken down into categories. If you are into hosting home parties for free things try houseparty.com. Manufacturers such as Kraft, Xbox, ect. will send you free items for hosting a house party with freinds and family and posting pictures on the linked web site. This is a form of cheap advertising for them. A friend of mine recently scored a buch of X Box Products for free.
Check out blogs for coupon links and strategies, such as Bradsdeals.com; thegrocerygame.com; stretchingabuckblog.com; moneysavingmom.com.
For Retail, dining, ect, I would encourage all to buy their local Entertainment book, which can be found at entertainment.com or a local book store. The trick to this buy the book in January when they run it on sale and offer free shipping on the web site. The book is loaded with buy on get one free dinners, a shoppers card that allows more buy one get one free dinners, coupons for travel, lodging, retail purchases, services. The book also has a link that allows you to print coupons from your computer. You can also change locations and print coupons for all over the US, so if you are planning a trip, just enter that city in the site, and presto you have the coupons for that area. It is well worth the $15.00 investment. You can always preview the book on the web site. The book allows me to save thousands every year.
I hope everyone finds these helpful and Good Luck!
As for my spending, I am at $139 for two weeks, and I need nothing in week 3. I keep a spending log, where I log my purchases, what items were for free, what were steals, and my cost before coupons and after and the savings percentage. At the end of the year I am going to add up the savings, to see just how valubale coupons are!
