What is the difference between diamonds and beanie babies.?
I say there is none
If you consider that fact that diamonds are not rare at all, and it is indeed a fact. They are controlled by a cartel, who keeps them locked away in vaults, and only trickles them out a little at a time.
Sort of like Beanie Babies. They were only manufactured by one company. So they have one up on diamonds. They had a monopoly.
So you have a control over the market and then you do a brilliant job of marketing. I have to say that those diamond ads are the best. Back in the 30's the diamond companies would pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to have a scene in a movie where the Brad Pitt of the day would propose with a diamond.
And if you can get people to pay thousands of dollars for little bag of beans shaped like animals it is a testament to your brilliance as a marketer and the gullibility of most people.
One big difference between diamonds and beanie babies.
Millions of people have not lost their lives in wars over beanie babies.
Didn't you just answer your own question ? I happen to disagree with you on some of your points. I have seen lots of people stand in line to get a special "beanie baby" but I have never seen anyone stand in line to get a diamond...... And diamonds aren't "controlled" or do they just limit your purchase ...if you have the money you can get a diamond anywhere.
